Where have YOU been?

OK OK.  Where have I been? Here. Promise.  Doing stuff like this:

This was supposed to be much much larger.
For a gift for a friend.
I love the colors.
But I needed it to be a little different for this friend.
More like this:

So, I only have about 110 left to make...
I think I will be busy...

Teachers gift

Logan's 1st grade teacher is awesome
(and it happens that he will have her again for 2nd grade!!)
And i wanted to make her something as a thank you for a great year.
So i made her an apron.
And Logan made her a hot pad.
It's reversible.

All folded up and ready to go!

Here are Logan and Derek.
Logan is holding the apron (obviously)
and Derek is holding his pot holder in process.

Peekaboo Bonnet

So.  I could not resist.
I bought Rae's adorable bonnet pattern.
And I have made several already for that little niece of mine.

Here is one on Mia.
She is the daughter of a friend at work.
Too cute.  Really.
This front view shows how much coverage it gives.

And even though Miss Mia is looking into the sun in this one
**where are her sunglasses?**  :)
you can still see that its pretty deep.

Now go to Made By Rae and get your own!!

Or, let me know.
I'd be happy to make another one.

i totally do not know what fabric i used.
i should write these things down!

i bought wayyyy too much fleece backing
so i made a separate throw.

Hoody for baby

As promised
Using the fabric that I won (yeah, I won!)
The pattern from here...
I made this:

Love it!
Next time I will not add the bottom or the cuffs
and not sew the front pieces together
just use maybe 2 larger buttons instead
You know, change the whole pattern!

Have a great day~

booties

Let me tell you about the c.u.t.e.s.t. booties.
And, easy.
Being a self-taught-left-handed-crochet-er (is that a word?!?)
finding patterns that I can understand can be a challenge.

But, thankfully, I have a go-to etsy shop.
Seriously-I have purchased many-a-pattern from her.

too cute, right?

And some for baby

Not my baby.  My BIL & SIL had a little girl in April.  Precious.   Seriously.  I wish we lived closer together so that I could see them more often.
And, since I can't be with them, I made them stuff for baby.

Here is a diaper bag that I made using Craft Apple's pattern that I bought at a LQS.  It was so much easier than it looks!

And some nursing covers I made using Diary of a Quilters tutorial:

And some too cute burp cloths.

I'll post the quilt and a little hoodie that I made soon :)

tree skirt for christmas

My SIL asked for a tree skirt for christmas.
Ask and you shall receive:

I used Kate Spain's 12 days of Christmas in a Jelly Roll.
Sorted the strips by colors
Made a layout that matched from both ends to the center
Sewed strips together
Cut the big end of the triangles at about 18 inches
Flipped the strips over and cut another at 18 inches
(That's why the layout had to match from both ends to the center:
So that when I flipped and cut the triangles would still match up)
Sewed the triangles together
All but the last 2 so that there was an opening
Cut a whole from center, added a binding and whew.
Finished.

Have a great day :)
