Winner Winner chicken dinner!

So...Karen at Badlands Quilts hosted a pajama party...and those that linked up with their finished product were entered to win some great fabric from Sewtropolis and the fabric shop!!

And, if you have not guessed by now, I won.  WAHOO!!!  Yes, I did have a great shot because there were only a few entries, but so what?  Details. :)

I am picking some pink-ish knits for that special little lady that will be arriving in April (my niece!!)  The knits will be perfect for a little outfit for her. And I am not scared since I now know that sewing clothing is not to difficult.  Can't wait!

Thank you so much to Karen and Nikol!!

Lo's jams!

Extra super easy*.
I made these with flannel and Simplicity pattern #2326.
So easy that I really should have been able to make Derek's too.
But I have not yet.  YET.

*easy of you make sure that you cut enough pieces.*
For some reason I only cut 1 of 2 chest pieces.
I had a slight problem trying to get it all to match up :)

*and easy if you check to make sure that your childs head will fit through the opening before it's all sewn together.
Let's just say it's hard to find a way to find some space after the fact.
But I did.  It is not pretty, but no one knows.
Well, except you now. Shhhh!!

Thanks for checking them out!
Can't wait to get started on Dereks set.

I linked up with the PJ Party :)

Made by Amy (via Rae)

Well.  Here it is.  My Lickety Split Bag (mini).
I bought the pattern-super easy!
And adjusted the pattern for the mini version.
Grabbed some fabric-not as easy,
I wanted something simple and not too busy.
And started sewing.

I added lining to the outside side pockets
because the grey was just a bit too
"BLAH"
And added lining to the inside side pockets
because those little muchrooms were just a bit too
"HELLO".
I also changed the handle because I just dont like tie straps.
I love it.

And, Karen is having a Party!  A PJ Party!
I have Simplicity pattern #2326.
And I have the flannel:
And I have 2 boys who really want some new jams :)

Stripes progress.

Yeah, it is a little slow going on my stripe project;
but I am making progress.  Here are some hex halves...

and the rest of the stripes are in strips...

And I have figured out what I am really going to do with them.
I got my inspiration from Logan's quilt and will make a zig zag!
Not sure how big it will be yet,
maybe just some runners since I am not sure if I have enough for a quilt.
We'll see!

hexie-stripes

Well...I had an idea that I tried and it did not work out so very well.
Better luck for me next time :)
And since that plan did not work out, I thought I would try a little something else-that I was able to pull off-YAY!!
I'm not getting the center right
hopefully it's just becuase I need to work on my 1/4 inch seems.

Finishes and a little progress

Well, here is my pinwheel quilt-a-long TOP done.
For the life of me I could not find more of the same white that I used for the blocks
(I used the rest of the yardage for a gifted quilt...oops...)
so I had to find a replacement.
It is from the Blush line, so it matches...kinda.
But I am happy with it, and it's my quilt, so there :)
And (thanks to Kristine) I made mini-pinwheels in the sashing-Too cute!

And..another "finish"
back story- 3 years ago we took the numbers off of the house so that we could paint and replace them.
They were wood and had not weathered very well.
Last year I purchased new numbers
(our mailbox has the numbers on it, so we were not completely incognito!) And the hubs has been busy doing hubsy stuff so they were always left on the list...well, I crossed them off today!  WAHOO!
I still have a few places to touch up with paint to hide the holes
but hey-they're up :)

And, here is my progress on AmandaJean's Quilt-a-long #5
I am anxiously awaiting this weeks post!!

**excuse the waves...it's not pressed and the ceiling fan is on**

So...stripes...I know that I promised an update~
the day is young :)
(which means that I have a bit more to accomplish and will post later)

Hope you have a great day!

WIP's

Well, I have several things that are works in progress...and I am just a little twitchy because I kinda like to not have things be 'in progress'. I like them to be done.  But, they will be (someday)!

I am doing another quilt a long with Amanda Jean...
here is what I have so far...

And here are some more stripes that I added for Beth's stripe challenge...
But I am stuck because I have no idea what I am going to make yet...

And, because I think I might be able to bust out a completed project...I am going to turn these Blush scraps into a runner...wish me luck for a quick turnaround :)

~Have a great day~

crazy about stripes :)

Well-if you know me than you know I cannot turn down a stripe!  Beth is motivating a stripe challenge and I could not pass it up.  There is even a chance I could win a little from her stash-too cool!  I also joined the flickr group to showcase-so excited!

If you are interested hop on over and let her know!
